The Longhair Lawyer Is Moving Back to Washington State!
Imagine this:
I am on the run from the law. I know things. Important things. Try as they might, the three-letter agencies can’t find me.
You – being a tried and true detective – are tasked with tracking me down. To find my location, you start by looking at places I’ve been, connections I’ve made, and people I know. You create a dossier.

Tyler’s mother’s side of the family immigrated to Washington (mostly from Scotland and Ireland) during the early part of the 20th century, where they lived in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. Tyler’s father’s side has lived in Ritzville, Washington for 5 generations. Tyler’s parents met at Central Washington University. They married and raised three kids in Ritzville, Washington.
Tyler grew up crabbing, shrimping, and fishing on the Hood Canal, near Brinnon, Washington, hunting deer and elk near Ellensburg, Washington, visiting family in Tacoma, Colville, and Entiat, Washington, and participating in football, track & field, basketball, and golf all over Eastern, Washington.
Tyler went to college at WSU in Pullman, Washington, where he was heavily involved in fraternity life and student government. He attended Gonzaga University School of Law, in Spokane, Washington.
For the past three years, he has lived in the Silicon Valley in California but frequently returns to Washington – attending conferences near Seattle, Washington, recreating on Lake Roosevelt in Washington, hunting and backpacking throughout Washington, and visiting family and friends in Ritzville, Spokane, Tacoma, Buckley, South Prarie, Orting, Entiat, Wilbur, Edmonds, and Mountlake Terrace, Washington.

After reviewing the dossier, you indicate to your superiors that you are certain I’m in Washington State. You raid the homes of every person I know. You comb the wilderness - searching abandoned mines and high mountain saddles.
After years of searching, you become despondent. You miss promotions. You can’t let it go. You refuse to admit your failure. Your hubris is your downfall. You lose your job and resort to temporary contract work as a night security guard at a small concert venue.
You were wrong. I’m not in Washington. I’m living off the land in the Appalachian Mountains until this all blows over. You’ll never find me.

You were right about one thing though, I have a strong connection to Washington State. That’s why I’m excited to say that me and my little family are moving to the Seattle area this Spring! I’ll be much closer to friends and family, much closer to my professional network and fellow Washington State Bar Members, and physically present in a state with government and court systems I have a lot of familiarity with!
More announcements and business changes for The Longhair Lawyer are on the way. Stay tuned!
